Biography

Riad Jisri
Born in Lebanon, raised and educated in Beirut, I had a passion for art since the age of 8 years old, and following retirement in 2008 from work at the Sheraton Centre Toronto, I did art on a full time capacity.
I worked and lived in Japan for ten years before immigrating to Canada, and my artwork has been influenced by the Japanese culture and art.

My works are in acrylics and watercolors, mostly contemporary and abstract, using extremely vibrant ink transparent Watercolors and Acrylics on canvas. I have participated in some art exhibitions to name Toronto Outdoor Art exhibition at the annual City Hall in July of 2009, also at Studio 203, The Sunnyside Beach Juried art Show and Sale, The Art Gallery of Hamilton, Earth Hour exhibit performed in the dark at the Lobby of the Sheraton Centre Hotel, where I worked for 28 years and Shelley Lambe Fine Art.

In 2011, I participated at The Toronto Outdoor Art Show, and I was extremely honored by winning the Mayor’s Office Purchase Award and was invited to participate in the 2011 Award Winners Exhibition that took place 

at the First Canadian Place Art Gallery in February and March of 2012. I will be exhibiting at the Toronto Art Expo at the Metro Convention Centre, which will take place in April 2012
